Homemade Scones With CBD Clotted Cream

Time for tea and nothing to serve? Or looking for a way do blend the intense, earthy, dark chocolate flavours of CBD into a recipe? 
Here at Moxmilk CBD we're always looking for ways to incorporate CBD into recipes, to get as much as the good stuff as you want in fun ways, or to mellow out the flavour of CBD for those who prefer a subtler taste.

Scones Time! 
Now, we know scones with clotted cream don't exactly scream 'healthy', but our modified recipe is just as delicious as the full sugar one, and benefits from an amazing dose of our premium organic CBD, which makes it even better! 
 
Ingredients: 
  • 450g self-rising flour
  • 2 level tsp baking powder
  • 30g caster sugar
  • 2 heaping spoons of honey or 1.5 agave syrup
  • 70g butter, softened, cut into pieces
  • 30g fat free thick greek yogurt
  • 2 free-range eggs
  • 1 full dropper Moxmilk CBD
  • Clotted cream
  • Strawberry jam
Recipe: 
  1. Preheat the oven to 220C, and lightly grease two baking trays
  2. Put the flour, baking powder, sugar and honey in a large bowl. Add the butter and yogurt and rub in with your fingertips until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
  3. Crack the eggs into a measuring jug, and slowly add in the egg into the flour and mix to a soft, sticky dough.
  4. Turn out onto a lightly floured work surface, knead lightly, and roll out to a rectangle about 2cm thick.
  5. Cut into as many rounds as possible with a fluted 5cm cutter and place them on the prepared baking trays. Brush the tops of the scones with a little extra egg, if you have any leftover. 
  6. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the scones are well risen and a pale, golden-brown colour. Lift onto a wire rack to cool. Eat as fresh as possible.
  7. To serve, mix in a full dropper of Moxmilk CBD into two heaping spoonfuls of clotted cream, and mix so the CBD is well blended.
  8. Serve the scones split in two with your Moxmilk CBD clotted cream and some strawberry jam.
